When the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA, in Danville) was involved in confiscating a considerable number of horses from a farm in about 2016, Jamie’s friend Ann agreed to take one of them – Ranger. An off-the-track thoroughbred (OTTB) with a lip tattoo, he had a Body Condition Score (BCS) of 1 (on a scale of 0 to 9) when he arrived at Ann’s farm. By the time Ann turned him over to Jamie – because Ann was moving to her retirement home in Arizona – he was a BCS of 5 and healthy as … well, as a horse! This big boy loves to be loved on and is gentle and sweet. Ranger is a chestnut, 16-hand Thoroughbred (with an unreadable lip tattoo) thought to have been born in the mid-‘90s.
Ranger is available for annual sponsorship. Would you like to contribute toward his room and board? Costs are about $200/month, but we would accept any monthly amount, no matter how small.
