Rachel is Carson’s younger sister. (You’ll recall Carson was named after Rachel Carson.) She’s a product of the repeat breeding of the same mare and stallion shortly after Carson was born. Like Carson, she was born black but started to show gray hairs at about three months. Connie sold her to be the first horse of a 12-year-old girl who had been taking lessons with Connie’s daughter Abby for five years; but since Rachel hadn’t been started under saddle yet, Connie asked Jamie if she’d do it. Within a couple of weeks, Jamie had fallen in love and knew she wanted Rachel; so she told Abby to let her know if the little girl ever decided she’d outgrown the horse thing. Five years later, Jamie got a text on a Sunday afternoon, and by that evening, Rachel had been sold to Jamie.
Rachel is the best beginner horse at WellBeings – calm, quiet, and kind with people who have never been on a horse before, she is also a terrific trail horse. There’s really just nothing not to love about this girl!
Rachel is a flea-bitten gray, 14.3-hand, registered purebred Arabian mare born in 2003.
