Pete’s family moved to Pennsylvania from Texas, bringing three horses with them. It soon became too challenging to board three horses while also raising several children, so they advertised the horses on Craigslist. Pete was the only Arabian of the three, so Jamie offered him a home. Pete’s family was named Peterson, and they branded their horses on the shoulder (a common practice in the western US), so Pete has a brand on his shoulder: a P with an arrow through it. We therefore named him Texas Pete. Pete enjoys hanging out with his buddy Leo. He has been under saddle for a little over a year now and is a great trail horse for a confident rider. Although we know Pete’s parentage – both parents are registered purebred Arabians -- Pete is not registered. He is a 14.2-hand chestnut gelding born in 2007.
Pete is available for annual sponsorship. Would you like to contribute toward his room and board? Costs are about $200/month, but we would accept any monthly amount, no matter how small.
