When Jamie saw Mystic on facebook, he was traveling across the southern US from Texas to Florida with a woman who was trying to place a vanload of horses from a killpen in Texas. If she didn’t find any of them homes, those horses would return to Texas and go immediately to Mexico for slaughter. After arriving in Florida, the truck headed back to Texas with Mystic still on board. Jamie couldn’t stand the thought of that pretty Arab face (and the loving personality she knew would go along with it) heading to slaughter, so she bought him. Once he got to WellBeings, we discovered Mystic has a mild case of digital suspensory ligament desmosis (DSLD), which makes him uncomfortable to ride. That’s OK, though, ‘cause he’s just as happy hanging out with Cowboy. Mystic is one of the permanent residents of the WellBeings sanctuary, although we would consider placing him in a local non-riding home with Cowboy. Mystic is a brown overo pinto, 13.3-hand gelding with evident Arabian heritage, born about 2002.
Mystic is available for annual sponsorship. Would you like to contribute toward his room and board? Costs are about $200/month, but we would accept any monthly amount, no matter how small.
