Maggie was born at Connie’s place in 2002, six weeks before Carson. She was beautiful from the moment she emerged from the womb. Connie sent her to a fancy Arabian show barn down-state to be started under saddle when she was eight; then Jamie took her for a few months to try to calm her down some. Of course, Jamie fell in love with the spirited but sweet and beautifully moving mare; so Maggie never went back to Connie’s.
While trail riding in western Pennsylvania, Maggie got spooked when a log started to roll as she was stepping over it, and she took off. Jamie fell, and Maggie ended up lost for 90 minutes in the woods. She actually ran about three miles to a horse farm, which just happened to be owned by the folks who owned the campground where Jamie was staying. Smart mare, that. Phew!
Maggie is a bay, 14.3-hand, registered purebred Arabian mare born in 2002.
