Jamie’s facebook friend Ann Marie got Kahlua from a kill pen in Pennsylvania and had him shipped to her rescue in rural Maryland. Unfortunately, the owner of the farm where Ann Marie’s rescue operated decided to renege on the lease-purchase agreement, and Ann Marie had to very quickly place all the rescued horses in new or foster homes. Jamie ended up with Kahlua, a horse Ann Marie said was the “most broken” soul she’d ever rescued. Clearly, his history includes considerable abuse, so trusting people does not come easily to him. Still, there is a sweet boy behind the worry, and he has come a long way since joining WellBeings. Kahlua is a dark bay, 14.2-hand, registered purebred Arabian gelding born in 2009.
Kahlua is available for annual sponsorship. Would you like to contribute toward his room and board? Costs are about $200/month, but we would accept any monthly amount, no matter how small.
